My Approach

Art for me is an exploration and adventure. It fills a need to discover as well as share the sacred nature of what I perceive.

I approach art in much the same way that I hike, exploring unknown territory and venturing off the beaten paths. These experiences create a wealth of material which often unwittingly transfers into my work and helps me intuit rather than contemplate where to go in the painting process. This unfolding without dictation from a “how to” formula, allows a natural dance with unconscious and conscious resources.

Every genuine work of art has as much reason for being as the earth and the sun.

Gallery & Studio

Paintings in this Gallery are examples of both visionary and representational work. Much of the current representational paintings relate to the traditions and beauty of Willistown Township. Visionary paintings express aspects of my inner path which are deeply meaningful for me.

Often I feel like a sacred activist while creating visionary work in that I want these paintings to sound a clarion call to those who are becoming active participants of the developmental shifts occurring within our collective human consciousness.

Classes

As a teacher I encourage others to deeply engage with their subject, saturating their senses with it, then painting their true response. As artists, interpretation informs our brushstrokes and marks, imbuing the work with undeniable vitality, be it softly or firmly expressed.

I consider myself a facilitator of the arts, and as such, work with encouraging others toward the wealth of their inner resources and individual perspectives.
